we all have habits that we would like to change
those habits might be watching too much netflix avoiding exercise or even eating too much now that it's possible to make a change and regardless of the nature of those habits know that your past is the reflection of your best consistent habits and your future will be the result of your consistent habits today and that's why ,
a few tips to break bad habits breaking a bad habit isn't something you can do overnight of course that depends on a lot of factors but just for you to know the average it can take anywhere from 18 days to 254 days so according to the average you can drop a bad habit in less than a year but where do you start well
1. firstly you'll need to calm down
the reason is pretty simple you're most likely to do the thing you don't want to do when you're stressed out if you eat something with a lot of sugar you'll activate your brain's reward system or dopamine, dopamine through some processes leads to changes in the brain systems responsible for actions and this is one of the reasons why we start bad habits in the first place stress management has a very important place in breaking down bad habits the solution anything that calms you down meditation ,exercise ,healthy things that replace the bad habit and calm you down
2. secondly you must identify your cues
the habit is divided into three main parts a queue a routine and a reward cues are the context if you have the habit of drinking alcohol the queue might be a party why is this important because you're most likely to relapse in the context you've done it before when you identify that context you can avoid it plan a way to control yourself when facing that cue or even change that habit this leads us to
3. which is to replace the bad habit with a good one
in our mind's terms it's easier to start doing something else than to stop doing whatever it is so that's it start a good habit to replace the bad one if you focus on not drinking your brain will still hear drinking and your focus will go there there are even studies that have shown that smokers who try to restrain thoughts about smoking wound up thinking about it even more so instead of thinking about not smoking think about eating an apple for example instead of thinking about not drinking alcohol think about drinking water i know this sounds like it's not going to work but your brain can hear a negative sentence it hears and focuses on the wordsthese are just a few examples but you should do this according to yourself

set goals and give yourself a better reason to quit a bad habit i don't think that there's any person on this planet that smokes and doesn't know it's bad for their health but yet they still smoke what does this mean the reason to quit isn't good enough not smoking could mean more time alive it could mean fewer health problems and it could mean more quality of life understand the best advantages you'll get by quitting the bad habit you want to quit to every objective you have in your life it's easier to get there if you have a clear version of the path it's as simple as that track the small wins understand you're making progress and it's going to be easier to do it share with me in the comments if you've had a bad habit and how you were capable of beating it
