Health minister Mansukh Mandaviya launches drone-based Covid-19 vaccine delivery

 Union Health Minister Mansuh Mandavia on Monday initiated a response to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) unmanned aerial vehicles and reached out to them (called i-Drones) for the northeast region. The project launched by Nagaland is the government's first step in bringing the Covid-19 vaccine to remote areas of the country using drones.


Pilot projects, led by ICMR, have been approved for the islands of Nagaland, Manipur, Andaman and Nicobar. "This is the first commercial drone flight in South Asia. ICMR partnered with IIT-Kanpur on the project. The center said the exemption would be for a period of one year or until further orders. approval of HLL Infra Tech Services Limited, testing of supplies of consumables for medical services (vaccines/drugs) was initiated on behalf of ICMR.
